Private and small group lessons as well as courses and camps are offered at Black Brook Golf Course to help you improve your game. Lessons are instructed by one of our professionals on our teaching staff.
Private Lessons
Private lessons are offered for adults and juniors, individually and small groups. When you take a private lesson, your golf professional will customize your lesson to help you build on your skills and improve your game.

Jay was born in Mentor, Ohio. He began golfing at the age of 6. He was a natural and fell in love with the sport immediately. Jay attended Fairport Harding High school. He was a 4 year letter winner in high school, and was captain of his golf team in his sophomore, junior and senior year. Jay went on to play golf in the NCAA at both Lake Erie College and Alderson Broaddus University. He was team captain both his junior and senior years. Currently, Jay is a professional golfer and also is the Director of Instruction here at Black Brook Golf Course and Practice Center. Jay is a certified instructor for First Tee of Cleveland. He currently plays local and out-of-state professional golf tournaments, NOPGA events, State Opens and Tri-State events.

Private Lesson Rates
- Adult Lesson: $100 (50 minutes)
- Series of 5: $450
- Junior Lesson: $80 (50 minutes)
- Series of 5: $350
- Couples Lesson: $150 (50 minutes)
- Series of 5: $650
- Group Lesson: $70 each (90 minutes) (3+ players)
- Series of 5: $300 each
- 9 Hole Playing Lesson: $200

Golf School (Junior/Adult)
You will tee off this summer in top form when you complete Golf School! You’ll receive five one hour classes appropriate for beginner and intermediate golfers. Instruction includes basic fundamentals of golf including grip, stance, swing, chipping, pitching, putting, sand shots, and etiquette.
Junior Golf League (Youth)
The league includes instruction from PGA Professional Tim Ausperk and regular course play. Entry fees are used for prizes and awards throughout the season. Play begins in June with the final day of golf and annual cookout at the beginning of August. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled tee time to allow time to check in and participate in a lesson prior to teeing off.
Junior Golf League Specialized Program (Youth)
Do you want to try out for your high school golf team or play at a higher level? This program, for ages 12 – 17, will cover playing, etiquette, and roles during a 15-minute clinic followed by 18-holes. Play begins in June with the final day of golf and annual cookout at the beginning of August. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled tee time to allow time to check in and participate in a lesson prior to teeing off.
